Shamanic Healing is believed to be the oldest tradition of healing
in the world. Therefore, it is thought that each one of us has
an ancestry that can be traced back to Shamanism. Shamanic Healing
is powerful, compassionate, and filled with the utmost integrity.
What is a Shaman? Shamans are people who perform miracles/healing.
Shamans “see” with their hearts. They work in collaboration
with a team of compassionate helping spirits (animals, teachers,
weather spirits, etc.) to intercede on behalf of those in their
community. Shamans do not use their own life force to do this
work, they draw from the universe.
Shamanism brings you to the source of your power. As with other
modalities, Shamanic Healing promotes balance within as a person
recovers their source of power. What we may call “disease”,
Shamans perceive as being “de-spirited”…our
power is not within us.
When I perform Shamanic Healing, I travel/journey by
use of drum, rattle, or song to an altered state of consciousness.
At this place I meet my compassionate sprit team to work on behalf
of my client.
Shamans believe there are 2 causes of illness. The first is physical
– meaning there is a presence or something in the body that
does NOT belong. This presence causes symptoms in the body. I
will employ a technique called Shamanic Extraction
to remove this presence. Shamans feel we need to be “filled”
with our power in order to be healthy. If we have empty spaces
caused by losing our power, we will attract something else to
fill it. Shamans label these energies spiritual "intrusions".
Intrusions are negative thought forms or energies that do not
belong in our bodies that cause distressing physical symptoms.
Shamanic Extraction involves identifying, finding, and pulling
the intrusions out with the assistance of the compassionate sprit
team. This energy is then sent to a place where it can do no harm.
Once the intrusion is gone, the Shaman fills the space with that
The second cause of illness is spiritual in nature. It is a "lack"
of something that DOES belong in the body. Simply put, you have
lost something that belongs to you. This is called “Soul
Loss”. A person is missing a vital piece of their life
force. This creates a space for intrusions, chronic illness, depression,
addictions, etc. Under these circumstances, I will employ the
technique of Soul Retrieval.
Soul Retrieval involves a journey to my compassionate spirit team
to bring back a missing piece that is ready to restore your power
so you may feel more present, fully balanced, and in a state of
grace. Many times you are presented a gift such as an animal,
teacher, or symbol to help you integrate their energies and best
keep yourself fully spirited.
Although there are various Shamanic lineages, Core Shamanism is
based on universal methods. There is a clear code of Ethics with
which we must abide.
